On April 8, 2024, Hubei University of Science and Technology and Hubei Humanwell Pharmaceutical Excipients Co., Ltd.officially signed a cooperation agreement, marking a new stage in their university-enterprise collaboration. This partnership aims to jointly establish a pharmaceutical talent training base and promote deep integration of industry and education. Dong Fangping, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee; Ge Jun, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor; and other municipal leaders including Wu Yunnan and Bie Huazhong attended the signing ceremony.

Hubei University of Science and Technology is a provincial undergraduate institution with a long history of education, profound cultural heritage, a comprehensive range of disciplines, strong research capabilities, and remarkable achievements in talent cultivation. Since signing a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Chibi Municipal People’s Government in December 2021, the university has actively fulfilled the “Four Commitments” — the Dream-Fulfilling Pledge, the Support Pledge, the Trust Pledge, and the Sharing Pledge — advancing university-local cooperation in healthcare and education, and setting a new benchmark for such collaborations.

Hubei Humanwell Pharmaceutical Excipients Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research, development, and production of high-end pharmaceutical excipients. Currently, the company’s relocation and expansion project, with a total investment of 1 billion RMB, is in full swing and is expected to commence production this year. The project aligns with international first-class standards and focuses on building an international industrial park. Key development areas include high-end pharmaceutical excipients, associated APIs, intelligent equipment for high-end preparations, green biomembrane materials, and pharmaceutical and food printing technologies. This will lead to win-win, multi-win outcomes, create a new model of university-enterprise cooperation, and provide positive guidance and promotion for the development of enterprises in Chibi.

At the signing ceremony, Wu Jiliang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Hubei University of Science and Technology, presented the plaque for the “Hubei University of Science and Technology Pharmaceutical Excipients Industry-Education Integration Innovation Talent Training Base” to Hubei Humanwell Pharmaceutical Excipients Co., Ltd. Subsequently, a tripartite cooperation agreement was formally signed by Hubei University of Science and Technology, Chibi High-Tech Zone, and Hubei Humanwell Pharmaceutical Excipients Co., Ltd.
